Flood Brothers Disposal presents The Skinny and Houli Show and we look back on the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony at Soldier Field. We play an interview with Justice Anne Burke, founder of Special Olympics, who tells us about the history of the event. Our first guest is the 2015 Chicago Rose of Tralee, Maeve McSweeney. Maeve fills us in on how she spent her year as the Chicago Rose including her trips to Ireland, Belarus and participating in The Rose of Tralee competition. The Chicago Rose selection night is coming up and tickets and applications can be found at chicagoroseoftralee.org. Our second guest is singer and Derry native, Gavin Coyle, with one of the most distinctive Irish voices in all of trad music. Gavin tells us about his move to the States, how he met his wife and how he got his current teaching job. We’re blessed to have him sing THREE beautiful songs for us. Our segments “Who Died?” and “Who Cares?” are featured and don’t forget to get your tickets for our annual trip to Ireland in October! Gavin sings us out this week with one of Skinny’s favorites,”The Town I loved so well”. It’s a must listen!
