Flood Brothers Disposal presents The Skinny & Houil Show and this week a family emergency results in our putting together a “Best of Show” that includes the Deputy Mayor of Cork, who visited the show last St. Patrick’s Day and joined Paddy Homan for a rousing version of The Banks of My Own Lovely Lee” and lots of laughs with these two Cork men. Then we hear from our old friend Peter Brady singing and reminiscing on one of our old Christmas shows, and finally we hear from our pal, author Denis Foley as he tells us about his current book, ‘Do You Speak Chicagoese?”, featuring stories from over twenty Chicago writers, including Houli. The book is still available in book stores, so pick one up, you’ll love it. Houli shows up to plug the big fight this Friday night at UIC Pavillion featuring Irish Olympic hero Michael Conlan as he bangs the drum for the Irish community to support this great young boxer in only his second professional fight. He won his first fight on St. Patrick’s Day in Madison Square Garden led into the ring by Conor McGregor, and then proceeded to knock out his opponent. Hope to see everybody at the Mick Conlan fight Friday night May 26th at UIC Pavillion to show ’em some Irish Pride. Call 1-800-745-3000 for tix!
