Flood Brothers Disposal presents The Skinny & Houli Show and we open the show with a recap of last Saturday night’s Irish American Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies and the great acceptance speech delivered by our pal Bob Flood and the overall appreciation of the whole evening at the Heritage Center, including the presence of movie star and fellow inductee Bill Murray. Then Kathy O’Neill drops by from the Heritage Center to promote the 32nd Annual Irish Fest coming up at the IAHC July 7,8, and 9th. Kathy brought students from the Academy of Irish Music to the show, Ella, Nora, Katie, Maureen, Eileen, and Jack and these kids put on a virtuoso performance of Irish music on fiddle, cello, tin whistle, guitar, and flute for the radio audience and the very appreciative audience at Lizzie McNeill’s. Tune in to hear these wonderful musicians. Then 19th Ward Alderman Matt O’Shea drops by with US Army veteran Albert Alexander to promote their “Help a Hero” project to assist veterans. More info at https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/fss/veterans/veteran-news/operation-help-a-hero.html Then Mark Piekarz and Kathy return with final facts on Irish Fest and Mark very graciously agrees to sing “Leaving of Liverpool” for us. Great show!
