Flood Brothers Disposal presents The Skinny and Houli show and to start off this week, Skinny and Houli discuss Maggie McEldowney’s win at the Rose of Tralee and the success it brings to Chicago. Congratulations Maggie! Our guest this week is Buffalo, New York native, Peter Nolan. He’s a man of many titles including author, Chicago Historian and former NBC News Reporter and Commentator. Pete is promoting his new book ‘Campaign!: The 1983 election that rocked Chicago‘ which gives an insight to Harold Washington’s election, the controversies surrounding said campaign and the interesting people he met along the way. Our very own Skinny even has an interview in this book! Houli and Pete look back fondly on their nights out together and Pete has some great stories to tell us on this week’s show. This is definitely worth the listen, folks! The boys inform us of the important events coming up in the area and as always we have our ‘Who Cares?’ and ‘Who Died?’ segments to follow. Our monthly segment, ‘Today in 1916‘ is featured on this week’s show, giving us a brief but informative history lesson in the fight for Irish freedom. What a show!
