Kelley Leyden

McCann’s Irish Oatmeal, Mike Haggerty Buick/GMC/Volkswagen and Personal Injury Attorney Caroleann Gallagher present The Hibernian Radio Hour and we return in honoring our Irish First Responders this week with Probationary Police Officer, Kelley Leyden, as our guest. Not only is Kelley a cop, but she is also a member of the St. Patrick’s Day Queen’s Court. Kelley grew up in St. Michael’s Parish in Orland Park, attended Carl Sandburg High School and studied to become an X-ray technician at Moraine Valley Community College. She has only been with CPD for the last 2 years but she still has her fair share of tales from work that she shares with our listeners. Kelley also chats to Houli about the reason she left the medical field to join the Force, her upcoming trip to Ireland and her duties as a member of the Queen’s Court. She delves into her Irish heritage and discusses how working for the Law runs in her family. A charming lady who we are very honored to have on the show this week! Houli takes us through this week’s obituaries and recent Irish-American news. Don’t forget the Emerald Society is hosting their St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations on March 14th at Local 399, 2260 South Grove St. The Celtic Rock band, ‘Wild Colonial Bhoys’, will provide the music and we play their song called “Irish In America” before ending the show with a quick trip to ‘Houli-Town’. Another great one this week in the lead up to St. Patrick’s Day!
