Fox’s Pizza, Guinness, the Cork and Kerry Irish Pub, Madden Funds and Flood Brothers Disposal present the Hibernian Radio Hour as we continue on our First Responders Tour at The Cork and Kerry Pub on Western Avenue and this week we welcome special guest host, Paddy Houlihan who will be presenting the show while Houli is on his annual trip to Ireland. We welcome back returning guest and honorary Irish man, Roberto ‘Junior’ Guerra. Junior spent 27 years with the Burbank Police Department and 1 year at the Cook County Jail before retiring last summer. He grew up in South Chicago and credits his experiences growing up and witnessing the wrong-doing to why he joined the Force. He attended Mount Carmel where he played football and both he and Paddy discuss their upcoming game against Loyola. Junior currently works as the Director of Operations at McCarthy Byrnes Security Solutions and chats about his duties there including active shooter training and working as security for celebrities like Sophia Bush and Harry Styles. He mentions having to deal with one of Sophia’s stalkers and confronting him when he showed up on set. Junior also talks about when they are hired as security during company terminations in case things become physical. He shares many stories from his experienced career including being t-boned by a distracted driver only after a month on the job. He tells another story about when he worked on the Narcotics investigation of a house in Melrose Park where they found $600k in cash but also a Black Magic altar. The ritual scene they came across during the bust had chicken heads and blood! Junior took photos of the crime scene and explains how a lot of the photos taken around the altar were blurred or undistinguishable. “I’m an expert on Saints for Drug Cartels..” He went to school in El Paso, Texas to learn everything there is to know about the Saints that the cartels pray to from a guy who was an actual member of the Narcotic Saints. This leads to Junior talking about his experience as a kid with spirits in their house and the insane dreams he had. He shares many stories from his career including a stand-off situation that occurred while trying to rescue a gentleman who was kidnapped. However, during the interrogation they found out the guy who had been kidnapped was a drug dealer who owed his bosses $500k worth of dope which then led to his kidnapping. He ended up becoming an informant for the FBI afterward! Junior ends another insightful interview with a positive message to our men and women in blue – “Don’t give up the fight!”. Paddy wraps up this week by thanking our loyal sponsors and of course, our wonderful returning guest. Be sure to tune in next week for another great interview on Hibernian Radio!
